This course wasn’t written for you. It was written for our own booking team.
Other studios noticed, and asked for it.
Mike and Jonelle Beveridge run two portrait studios in Perth, Australia. Everything in Train My Studio is the system they built to train their own booking team, taught the way they’d want a new hire to learn it.
Premier Studio and Four Paws Photography.
Jonelle: “We’re husband and wife from Australia. We run two photography businesses.”
Mike: “We run two brands. One Premier Studio. It’s been established for 45 years. We’ve owned it for 10 years as a husband and wife, and that’s predominantly families, and it’s an outdoor setting. And we also have an indoor studio now, and we also have another brand called Four Paws.”
Four Paws is mainly pets. As Jonelle and Mike put it: “Four Paws is mainly pets… We’ve got a huge pet market in Australia and I love photographing dogs… We’ve even had a snake.”
They have two children, and they run both businesses from Perth.
Jonelle has been photographing children for over 15 years. And even after a decade of running booking calls, she still works from the script: “Even though I’ve been doing this for literally 10 years, I myself still have to read it off.” That’s not a confession. That’s the whole argument for the course: if the person who wrote the script still uses it, your booker should too.
Train My Studio wasn’t built to sell. It was built to stop training the same booker twice.
Every booking consultant who ever answered the phone at Premier Studio or Four Paws learned the same three-call system: the Congratulations Call, the Booking Call, the Excite Call. Once it worked reliably enough that Mike and Jonelle weren’t the only ones who could run it, other studio owners started asking for it.
Mike, to members in 2019:
“the course is designed so you never have to train your booking team yourself again, so you have more time to focus on accelerating your business to the next level.”
That’s still the whole pitch. It was never “watch some videos about sales.” It’s the actual system, the actual scripts, and the actual recorded calls from the studio that built it.
Jonelle runs Four Paws today. Mike isn’t on a single call.
Jonelle still runs Four Paws with her own team, and Mike doesn’t work the phones there anymore. It’s still fully booked. That’s not a hypothetical about delegation, it’s what’s happening at their own studio right now, and it’s the reason they can teach “hand this to your booker” without it being a sales line.
Voted the best marketing presentation by the toughest room in the industry.
Mike has presented on phone bookings at Enchanted Fairies’ head office in Dallas, and at The Platinum Group’s marketing conferences in Rome, Colorado, Greece and Orlando. At one of those, attendees, the highest-performing portrait studio owners in the world, voted his session the best marketing presentation of the event.
That’s the room this system was built to survive: not beginners, the peer group every studio owner in this course is trying to become.
Two things they resisted, then reversed, in their own words.
Same-day sales. Mike: “We resisted it for I think eight or nine years and now we’ve started doing it and I can’t imagine doing it any other way.” Eight or nine years of leaving money on the table, and holding out on a viewing model that made every sale slower and smaller than it needed to be.
Giving pricing on the phone. For one month, they tried the opposite of what they now teach: no pricing until the client was in the sales room. Their average sale dropped 67%. They didn’t publish that because it made them look good. They published it because it’s the reason they teach the opposite now.
If a course is going to ask you to trust it with your booking team, it should be willing to show you where it was wrong first.
Train My Studio converts the leads. Studio Digital generates them.
Mike also runs Studio Digital, an ads agency that runs Meta advertising for portrait studios worldwide. If you don’t have leads yet, that’s Studio Digital’s job. If you have leads and your team doesn’t know what to say to them, that’s this course.
The system two working studios run on. Now $197 once for yours.
